A Great Achievement! Department of Geography and Biology Achieves ASIIN Accreditation for Bachelor of Education Programme
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has made another proud achievement. This time, the Department of Geography and the Department of Biology officially achieved international accreditation from ASIIN (Accreditation Agency for Degree Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics) for the Bachelor of Education study programme. This accreditation is a prestigious recognition from a renowned German accreditation agency that assesses the quality of study programmes based on international standards in education, graduate competencies, and curriculum suitability to global needs.
With ASIIN accreditation, the Department of Geography and Biology is not only recognised nationally, but also globally, thus opening wider opportunities for graduates to compete in the international workforce and continue their studies abroad. ASIIN emphasises the science and practice of education, as well as graduates’ ability to integrate knowledge into the real world, especially in the context of teaching. This is in line with the university’s vision to produce professional educators who are adaptive, innovative, and globally competitive.
The accreditation process involves an in-depth assessment of curriculum documents, learning activities, faculty quality, and academic support facilities. The ASIIN assessor team also conducts on-site visits to ensure that education delivery is aligned with the values of accountability and sustainability. ASIIN accreditation is not just a symbol of recognition, but also an important strategy in campus internationalisation efforts. With this achievement, the university continues to move towards becoming a World Class University and a centre of educational excellence in Southeast Asia.
Now, students of the Department of Geography and Biology are not only agents of change at the local level, but also ready to make real contributions at the global level.
